Bill Richards Regatta 2023

REGISTRATION FORM πŸ”—

This regatta honors the legacy of Bill Richards, Kitsap Rowing Association’s founding coach and a rower instrumental in Bainbridge Island Rowing's history with an event that focuses on fun, the camaraderie between rowing clubs, and celebrating the joy of rowing.

Rowers from Clam Island Rowing, Bainbridge Island Rowing Club, and Kitsap Rowing Association will be participating in the event. This is a FUN regatta and a great way for beginners and novice rowers to try racing.

For rowers and volunteers, included is some important information for the day of the event, so please read carefully:

  • Rowers and volunteers to arrive at 7:00 am

  • Drop off your potluck items at the registration table (or where they direct you).

  • Parking is in the Silverdale Waterfront parking area, and there is also street parking. Do not park in the boat trailer parking unless you have a trailer.

  • It is very important that all participants (both rowers and volunteers) check in at the BRMS registration table, located on the grassy area in front of the parking lot. At that time, you will get your rowing crew assignment and which race you are in.

  • Cost is a suggested donation of $15 per rower; payable at the registration table on the day of the event. (helps covers the cost some lunch items and regatta materials, etc.)

  • There will be eights racing "ham'n'egg" style, with crews from all clubs and all skill levels mixed together in pre-assigned crews.

  • Rigging and shell storage will be in the main parking lot. We have the first five spots reserved.

  • Personal belongings will have to be left in your cars as we do not have a secure location for them.

  • Launching will be from the shore. There will be a shore master to direct crews. Wear shoes you do not mind getting wet.

  • Races will be approximately 3800 meters with a rolling start. Course maps and directions will be provided at the Coaches/Coxswains/Participants meeting.

  • The finish line will be in front of the mooring pier so there will be plenty of space for spectators to see the end of the race.

  • Bathrooms are located in Waterfront Park and next to the Main Boat trailer parking lot.

  • After the races and de-rigging, everyone is invited for a potluck picnic.

  • For questions, contact Ellen Strong via email πŸ“§
